“Be the first to see the latest” — under this slogan, the Salone del Mobile.Milano has opened its door to the public on Tuesday 4th April at the Fiera Milano, Rho.

The international limelight of this 56th Exhibition, which strengthens the city’s reputation as capitals of design, will shine on Milan until Sunday 9th April.

Ideas, creativity, innovation and technology are the key concepts underpinning the adv campaign, promoting the Salone del Mobile.Milano as a “must-see”, a global benchmark for the furnishing and design sector, as well as an unmissable opportunity to gen up on the latest lifestyles…. #italiansdoitbetter !

Andy Warhol: Sixty Last Suppers at Museo del Novecento

 

 

Andy Warhol’s last work is the monumental cycle The Last Supper, where he used a commercial reproduction of Da Vinci’s famous mural painting to create more than 60 silkscreens, paintings, and works on paper. The cycle was commissioned by the Greek gallerist and collector Alexander Iolas, for and exhibition at Palazzo Stelline in Milan, opposite the Santa Maria delle Grazie church housing the original Last Supper.

For the 30th anniversary of the death of Andy Warhol (1928-1987), part of the cycle is temporarily back in Milan and on display at the Museo del Novecento.

Keith Haring: About Art at Palazzo Reale

 

 

The exhibition Keith Haring: About Art at Palazzo Reale gives an overview of the career and works of the American artist and social activist, whose visual language has become globally recognised.

On display are 110 works from public and private collections from Europe, America and Asia, many of them colossal, and some exhibited for the first time in Italy.

The works are presented within the artistic framework that inspired Haring’s practice and which brought him to develop his signature style: from classical archaeology, pre-Columbian art, Pacific masks and creations by Native Americans, to the masters of the 20th century, such as Jackson Pollock, Jean Dubuffet, and Paul Klee.

Fondazione Prada

 

In the past decade, Fondazione Prada has become one of the Italian meccas of art, an innovative space that promotes and foster freedom of expression, which “embraces the idea that culture is deeply useful and necessary as well as attractive and engaging. Culture should help us with our everyday lives, and understand how we, and the world, are changing.”

With this premise, I can warmly suggest you to visit the whole complex as an experience: there are many projects going on at the moment, including Slight Agitation 2/4: Pamela Rosenkranz. Infection, 2017. Her work explores how physical and biological processes affect art. Her installation Infection is based on a neuro-active parasite, of which an estimated 30% of the world’s population is affected. It will NOT leave you not wondering.

Miroslaw Balka: CROSSOVER/S at Hangar Bicocca

 

“CROSSOVER/S” is the first retrospective in Italy by Miroslaw Balka (Warsaw, 1958), one of the leading artists of the last three decades, whose work explores human nature as well as individual and collective memory. Reflecting on the history of Europe and especially of Poland, his birthplace and home, Balka draws on autobiographical elements and episodes to create works that address universal themes in a powerfully evocative way.
