There is no doubt: today, Berlin is one of the meccas of Art in Europe, and the Berlin Gallery Weekend, which has just finished, is one of the proof of it.

So Art-Lovers, here there are some picks of the best museums shows I have seen last week.

#3 Basim Madgy at Kunsthalle by Deutsche Bank

Start light (and short) with one of the hottest names in Contemporary Art today.
Basim Madgy is Deutsche Bank’s  “Artist of the Year” 2016  and will present his first institutional solo exhibition at the Deutsche Bank KunstHalle. The works showcased encompass film, photography, installations and works on paper. At the centre of all of his works are structures of seeing, remembering and archiving.

#2 Erwin Wurm at Berlinische Galerie

If you think art is boring, be ready to change your mind with this hyper-interactive exhibition! Contemporary Austrian artist working across media, Wurm  has a critical approach to visualizing present-day life, often picturing absurd or comic elements in his mix of sculpture, painting, performance, video, and photography. The incipit of the exhibition is also the best part of it: a series of “one-minute sculpture” that visitors have to perform alone or together with a partner. No exhibition has been better for cool artsy Instagram pics. EVER!

#1 Isa Genzken at Martin-Gropius-Bau

Hosted in a remarkable building, right next to the “Topography of Terror” show and remnants of the Berlin Wall, this exhibition is a major one, as Isa is  from Berlin and she is a BIG name in the art world today. She is bold and radical and not afraid of showing it. The exhibition presents the broad spectrum of Genzken’s work, from her early films, drawings, ellipsoids and concrete sculptures to complex narrative collages and everyday items integrated into montages. The presentation highlights topics such as modernity, the human body, portraits, city culture and architecture. A must-see.
